Calibre library manager start niet meer op

beste mensen,
ik gebruik al jaren Calibre. Mn pc is ingericht met Ubuntu 20.04. Toen deze week mn bebook ereader sneuvelde, heb ik de kobo touch ereader van mijn vrouw opnieuw ingericht en vanuit Calibre met een aantal boeken geladen, zoals ik altijd al met mn bebook deed.
Er kwamen wel wat meldingen dat Calibre de bibliotheek indeling van deze versie van de kobo software niet ondersteund, maar de boeken staan er gewoon op.
Toen ik nog eens keek naar de verdere mogelijkheden van Calibre heb ik met server instellingen zitten spelen. Dat had ik vermoedelijk beter niet kunnen doen .
De dag erna startte Calibre niet meer op.
Zelfs na verwijderen van programma en configuratie en opnieuw installeren start hij niet op.
Heeft iemand ervaring met Calibre onder Ubuntu (of desnoods Linux) en nog tips hoe ik eea weer aan de gang krijg.

I'm using Calibre for many years now. My pc runs Ubuntu 20.04. This week my bebook ereader broke down. I replaced it with my wife's kobo touch. Reinstalled everything on it; it hasnt n=been done for a while.
I downloaded a number of titles to the kobo with Calibre like I used to do with my bebook. Some messages where presented that Calibre does not support the new kobo touch library format. But the books where on the reader and readable.
When I looked into ther functionality I played with server settings in the Calibre program. Probable that was not a lucky action.
The day after Calibre did not start anymore.
Even after complete remove of Calibre software and configuration settings and reinstallation, Calibre refuses to start.
Does anyone have experience with Ubuntu running Caliobre and or tips to make it work again.

Uninstall the distro provided calibre package and install the official binary from: https://calibre-ebook.com/download_linux
