Calibre won't connect to iTunes
Using latest Calibre (0.7.43) and iTunes 10.1.14. Followed instructions from "iPad + Caliber: Start here" thread. But Calibre won't connect to iTunes.
This is the debug log. Any ideas? calibre Debug log calibre 0.7.43 Windows-Vista-6.0.6002-SP2 Windows ('Windows', 'Vista', '6.0.6002') Python 2.7.0 Windows: ('Vista', '6.0.6002', 'SP2', 'Multiprocessor Free') Starting up... Try starting iTunes before starting calibre. If it needs to do a database upgrade, that might take some time before calibre will be able to communicate with it.

I've tried everything: rebooting computer, starting iTunes first (with iPad connected or not connected), starting calibre first, etc.
Just closed both programs, opened iTunes first, waited a couple of minutes (although it didn't seem like it was upgrading database). Then Calibre in debug mode. Same results. I just updated to the latest iTunes (10.1.2.17, I believe).
If there are any dialogs being displayed by iTunes when calibre attempts to connect, you will see that error. If I start iTunes first, allow it to open completely with no dialogs open (just the main window), then do 'Connect to iTunes' from calibre it works for me. Does it work the same for you? G |

After the error, try connecting to iTunes again immediately. Does that work?

Is there anything unusual about your configuration? For example, are you running a virtual machine?

Assuming that you've followed the Quick Start directions in Calibre + Apple iDevices: Start here, I'm stumped. Try one of the other techniques for putting content on your iPad listed in the FAQ.

Trying with the content server.
I use IP from default gateway on Stanza 192.168.1.1 and I get to a brown screen that prompts for user and pass. I use the ones entered in calibre > preferences> shared over the net. Then submit, screen moves but returns to the same. So I have no access. ? |
