Alternative to Kindle and Sony PRS 650

I'm trying to decide which e-reader to buy. I live in Portugal, which limits my choices.

I plan to get mostly books which are DRM-free or in the public domain. I will also like the ability to read PDF documents. I value a good 6-inches screen, long battery lifetime and would love my reader to last a few years. On the other hand, I don't care about WiFi.

For me the Kindle is probably the cheapest option, but I would like to be able to read ePub documents as well (in case I decide to buy a book from the portuguese publishers). The Sony PRS-650 is perfect except for the price (and is somewhat limited in the formats that it reads).

Can you suggest some other reader that I can buy online, preferably in Europe, and ships to Portugal?

Thank you.
