Recovering or resetting the pin for my iLaid
Hello everyone,
I'm in a bit of a bind I bought my iLaid early 2008 used it a lot while I had to commute to work each day by train. But about a year ago I found work much closer to home and haven't used it since then. Now I'm about to take a long flight to Australia and would love to bring my ilaid. But turning it on this morning to see if it was still working I came to the conclusion that I have no clue what my pin is (the first one you get when turn on the device). After a bit of google I found this site and somewhere it recommended me to log in to my irex account. But it seems that the support function is not working. Is this because the company went bankrupt or is it temperately? Is there another way to recover or reset the pin or do just have a very expensive paperweight? Many thanks for any replies! |

resetting your PIN should still work:
goto https://myirex.irexnet.com/ log in to your myirex account and select the "Reset PIN code" option you should see a drop down menu with the MAC address of your device. Then connect to iDS (I think that's still up...) |

Well I gave it another go but as I expected there is no reset pin in the menu. That was the reason why I wanted to access the support I assumed the pin reset function would be there. I guess there is no way to contact the company outside the website now that are bankrupt? Really too bad I liked the device. Quote:

if you don't have a "Reset PIN code" option in your myirex account, you have never connected your iLiad with iDS using that account, so the device is not linked to your account. What happens when you press & hold the connect button on the upper right corner of your iLiad? It should make a connection to iDS... best use a wired connection
