Sorry I've tried to read through the threads and FAQs but have yet to find a simple answer. My Paperwhite battery life seems too short and I've discovered that it's not indexing any books sideloaded with Calibre. Sometimes they index partially (I check by entering some random nonsense word into search). I've deleted all the books that weren't indexing and manually deleted all the files in the systems/indexing folder on the Paperwhite. I've re-loaded one book after converting it MOBI to MOBI within Calibre, but it still won't index. Is there a setting somewhere in Calibre I'm missing? Should I switch to AZW3? The original file(s) are all EPUBS. No issues at all on the iPad.

Before reloading the books that don't seem to index (after doing your mobi to mobi reconversion), you might try restarting your PW via the settings menu....that can 'cure' a lot of unusual behavior on the PW. Good luck.
