help recovering my library
Hello I recently had a virus on my computer but was able to go through safe mode and find an antivirus program that would delete the virus. It was a fake antispyware soft program and I didn't even know it was on my computer until everything quit working. Once I got my computer working and checked all my important things out I got onto calibre and found that all of my books are gone. Does anyone know how I could find my books and get them back? I have about 400 books on there. I am not a computer savy person so please help in layman terms. thnx and love the site.

Are the books in the database folder and just not in the database? If the books themselves are not on the hard drive, then you have a big problem. If they are still there and just not in the database then you can add them again. All your metadata will be gone though.
I gotta ask: No backup? It is for reasons like this that backups are essential; not just for Calibre, but for all your important data. |
