T68: Every second press of a volume button registers as two

I have this very strange behaviour on my T68. Every second press of a volume button registers as two presses.

Some background:
Bought in China (International version?). Did not like the interface and built-in reader so I played around with different firmwares, ending up with V.1.7.3_rc1 firmware : 2015-08-03_16-02_1.7.3_rc1_a17dee9 (http://www.onyx-international.com/in...1-6-5-20141107). I was flashing, updating, re-flashing, re-updating quite many times with the different firmwares, so this might have left some residual files or settings causing this, but I have no idea where to even start looking.

I really hope someone can point me in the direction of a solution...

Try the official 1.7.3 firmware, AFAIK it fixed this issue.

Where can I find the real official firmware?

You are using official firmware. But that was a "Release Candidate", hence the suffix "rc1".

The final official release 1.7.3 has been released, you can get it from the forum you linked, or here (http://ereader-store.de/en/content/8-downloads).
