Kindle Killer?
Could this new book kill the Kindle?
It's small, light and portable – and it doesn't need charging. So could the new 'flipback' book be the next big thing in publishing? http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2011...is-kill-kindle |

More likely the paperback killer. An ever worse reading experience, if that's possible.

An interesting article
I have seen flipback books used by several fellow commuters here in India in buses and trains. But most of them are either incantation/prayer books or parts of Gita, a Hindu scripture. |

Thought it was going to be an e-ink reader with built in solar charging.

When I was a kid, there were little novels like that from Disney. And in the corner, there was a little drawing, you'd flip the pages and it would animate.
But they were regular orientation. Same size though. I still remember some of them, the ones with Scrooge McDuck. He was pretty much in the vein of Doc Savage or Indiana Jones, a pulp hero. |

I remember the pocket-edition, this appears to be more like the 'pick-pocket' edition. Cheers |

I would definitely buy one of those, you can make or buy a solar charging case for the Kindle that would probably work ok, but to have one of those little panels at the top like on the calculators, theoretically you wouldn't need a battery, just enough light to flip a page.
Eventually our ereaders will be solar powered, and maybe even made from a DIY kit, will you still wish copyright to function then? |
