Oblong bookform

Hello readers,
I've got some stripbooks that are twice as wide as they are high (Oblong) and when I open them in Calibre the pages are displayed in half.
I suspect it's got something to do with the textlines underneath the pictures (2 columns on every page) but I don't know how to adjust this.
Can anyone help me?

It would help if you could post some images of what you want to see, and what you are seeing, along with an example - but do not post complete copyrighted works. See How to ask a question about conversion problems

When I try to read the book I see this:

Name:	Tom Poes pag. 1.JPG
Views:	186
Size:	112.5 KB
ID:	140141

Then on the next page I see this:

Name:	Tom Poes pag. 2.JPG
Views:	181
Size:	105.8 KB
ID:	140142

And I would like to see this:

Name:	Tom Poes hele pagina.png
Views:	189
Size:	454.8 KB
ID:	140143

..being the whole first page of the book. Did this make it more clear?
(I hope the pictures turned out well..)

What you really have is a 2 column format with a full width graphic.

Calibre does not convert 2 column into single (full width) well, if at all.
As you can see, it is treating a column as a page with the graphic being cropped/chopped.

Hand code (edit) time
  • Shrink the graphic (logical) with CSS to fit across
  • enlarge the column width (to device screen limit)
  • some other qway

@argus60 - that's fine

What did you convert from to get the EPUB?

Added : The layout you want maybe better done in Fixed layout ePub 3.

I suggest you make a post in the EPUB forum with a link to this thread.

Thanks for the reactions.
@BetterRed: Originally it was a cbr file, wich I managed to convert into epub before loading it into Calibre.
Fixed layout ePub 3 looks promising, I'll look into that.
