I just don't understand the point of Cyber Monday. CM specials are generally worse than BF specials.

Take that refurb $69 Nook Touch. For the same price during BF, you could get a brand new one.

Amazon has around 900 ebooks discounted for Cyber Monday. I am not going to copy a link just in case there is a referral tag somewhere in there, but the sale is easy to find: just go to the Kindle store.

MP3 Players (for audiobooks)
[*]Samsung Galaxy Player 4" ($230) -- Amazon ($189) / Best Buy ($190)

I picked up one of these. I think they have it very mispositioned as an mp3 player only. It is basically a cell phone without the cell phone radio. So it can run most android apps and also works just fine as a wifi VoIP phone. So it is really a pda, pocket pc like device that can also double as a phone when you are in range of wifi. I set it up with csipsimple and it works well. However, due to the fact samsung thinks of it as an mp3 player (oh, it also plays a lot more formats the just mp3), the stripped out the dialer component of the OS so the contact list integration is not present with csipsimple. I had to switch to a paid app for now to get this. Cant wait for a custom rom to appear of Samsung to realize they should not strip out the dialer just because it does not have a cell radio. This is a neat device that I think will not sell as well as it should because Samsung marketing has it position all wrong.

Yeah, it's a 4" tablet. I ordered both a 4" and 5". Should get them tomorrow. It's taking a bit too long though. Two-day Prime will actually take 3 business days; and no wonder since it's going from Sparks, NV to Louisville to Seattle. What kind of twisted route is that?

The Amazon sale seems to include all the Open Road books and some of the others, and at cheaper prices. For instance, Exodus by Leon Uris was about $6 at Kobo after I applied the code, but is $2.99 at Amazon. Worth comparison shopping at both sites if you find a title which interests you!

I found it interesting that this is the first time Kobo has restricted a coupon to specific books. Usually it's to any non agency book but it seems to only work on the books under the coupon's category.

Same for a couple of the Open Road mysteries I checked - significantly cheaper at Amazon than Kobo, even with Kobo coupon.

Yep, makes it pretty useless IMO...

Do they really think I'm going to go through many pages of books in hopes that one might be something I want? And since it's only one book for each of the coupons, I'm even less likely to page through the lists. And, other than the Open Road books, no way (that I could figure out) to sort by genre or author to help the hunt along a bit.

Bah humbug!

Amazon does that too with many of their Kindle Special Offers. No way to sort. Just manually sort through page after page after page. What a pain.
