I want full justified because that has been the norm for paper books.
I would never change the formatting on my own. |

I'm hoping the next version Sony Reader will support hyphenation and have a 1024x786 screen. Then I will get one. |

Full justified here, because it reminds me more of a paper book. It just seems neater. I do dislike the white rivers that can occur, but I've adjusted to seeing that when it happens.
However, I will read either, so if a book happens to be left aligned, I just read it that way. Not worth bothering taking the time to change/convert it. |

Interesting...when I voted just now, the poll was split 50/50! I prefer full justification myself.

Full justification for me too - it looks more like a paper book and hyphenation does not bother me. Also, absolutely no spaces between paragraphs (unless it's a scene break of course).
Reading a book is very different from reading a webpage and I can't get that immersed feeling if my ebook isn't formatted like a pbook - so...serif font, fully justified and no space b/t paragraphs. I initially tried to ignore these but to no avail so now, if I download a book and its formatting is not to my taste, I have plenty in my tbr stack to keep me occupied until I can get around to fixing it. Thank God for Calibre and Sigil! Last edited by Eskarina; 01-24-2013 at 08:08 PM. |

I prefer full justification; when my only reader was my Sony 505 I continued using the LRF format over switching to ePub for just that reason (and those annoying right side page numbers.) Recently I opened an older book on my T1 and was surprised to see it was only left justified; it was such a shock!

Assuming we are reading in a right-to-left oriented language then given the choice I far prefer left justified. Left just feels right to me and make reading easier. Maybe it is because most software seems to do a marginal job of justification. (yes I see the pun, sorry...I will punish myself later to that one.) For printed books publishers have always done a decent job of keeping the negative space between kerned pairs of letters down to a reasonable level but reader apps have always been inconsistent or downright flaky at it.
