New Novel Release

I’m celebrating the release of my fourth book in the Iskander series: The Wildcat’s Burden, http://www.double-dragon-ebooks.com/...=1-55404-729-3

The series protagonist is Gisel Matah, the tough and reckless officer in Iskander’s Security Service. She is the youngest of the castaway Earth people on the 17th century alternate earth called Gaia. Earlier stories have related how her courage and skills made her a key member of the group as they worked to establish themselves in a world where their technology has gained them as many enemies as friends. Now her negotiating ability has built upon her covert operations and military reputation to make her governor of the most turbulent city in the world, Skrona, the transhipment port for the Iskander’s world changing manufactures.

The posting is alleged to be an easy desk job, because she’s pregnant with her first child. Hah! Nothing is easy in Skrona, where crooks, charlatans, and spies gather to wrest fortunes from Iskander’s knowledge. Added to that, Iskander only has the mandate to govern the city because of the ethnic violence between two groups of residents – the citizens of Iskander’s two allies. Gisel is ordered to keep the peace, but not to let her garrison troops make war on either. It’s a tall order, and bound to become more difficult when every enemy waits for her to go into labour so they might attain their goals. Is the fabled Wildcat able to thwart their plans?

I propose starting a thread on the world building, scenario creation, and plotting of a series soon. Watch out for it.
