I never noticed those numbers in the top row until TODAY. I also never noticed those punctuation marks above the numbers until today.
On my Kindle Fire I have a Kindle Keyboard App which was just upgraded yesterday to version 2.3.4. That upgrade may have given us the numbers and punctuation keys. It also may have bricked Blossom's Fire if it clashed with her non-Amazon Launcher. Her problem may not have had anything to do with the Fire Firmware upgrade to version 6.2.2. I leave my WiFi on all the time. Some do not. Thus, some may have received the Keyboard upgrade and some may not. Last edited by sirmaru; 01-25-2012 at 07:57 PM. |

I am certain that they were there from the beginning because I used them for my wi-fi password. I have always used the long press to enter the numbers because I hate switching between the character and alpha keyboard.

I thought that too till I googled Kindle Fire Keyboard and saw I was wrong at least what it was suspose to look like. I wish I kept a list of apps I had installed so I could figure out if one of them was the cause of my Keyboard issues.

Blossom, your "new" Fire is probably faster as you have less apps installed on it. My Fire is super sluggish now and is almost unbearable as I have too many apps installed and need a "spring cleaning"

The only downside is battery life seems to be shorter but I can't confirm that till I use it a couple of days. |

I think your old fire may have been a bunk one in general, Blossom. Mine is very responsive when I hit a button, no waiting at all. I have a lot of apps on mine too.
Shame on Amazon for not cleaning the fire before sending it out though, geez. lol. At least it wasn't scratched though. |
