PRS-300 dead prs-300??

hello in my first post and thread in the forum,

first of all, excuse my english and excuse myself from coming to the forum with a problem.

it´s my prs-300...nothing appears on the screens. It doesn´t start and I don´t even get the orange light when I use the start slinding bottom, I need to reset it, use the botton and then I get the orange light...

when I reset the 300 and start it, the orange light switches on, but after a few seconds on, it blinks 6 or 8 times and then swithces off the light.meanwhile, nothing on the screen.

what can the problem be? please help...I love this little device...

Hi. Press reset, and without switching on, try to connect to the computer and format the memory.

Without switching it on, I don´t get any disk on the pc.I get a red light on the 300 (charging ).

If I switch it on, then connect it, I cannot open the disk,I get an Insert disk...

Well, strange, maybe you may try a hard reset?

I can´t do the hard reset either...I get nothing on the screen.

also, when I reset the 300 and start it, I can only start it once...if I want to start it again-get the orange light again-, I need to reset it again...

I edit because I´ve made an advance, I hope...I started the 300, plug it in the pc and pless the down key and 0 simultaneusly...I the two disk on the 300 now appears accesible...

I have formated one of them but I cannot format the other-disk is write protected-

no diference

I have also change the name of the media.xml to media.xml.bak, but I cannot see much on the sceen...

I say I can´t see much on the screen because I can see that the text on the screen has changed...but I cannot read anything because the text is too faded away

The disk that's write protected contains the Sony installer and library software... nothing for user access and not used unless you let it install when you connect...

As I get nothing on the screen, could it be a battery problem?

I´ve been resetting, switching on and pluggin in the pc the 300, but I get nowhere...I get the two disks on the pc but nothing on the screen of the 300...

please, help....I don´t want to lose the 300...

I tried, yes but with no success...

I copied the russian firmware folder in the formated disk, started the 300 and blindly press 6...

but nothing changed or at least I cannot tell because the screen is blank...

Are you letting it sit and charge for long enough? If the battery is getting old, it may not be holding a charge well.

I just put a new battery in mine, as it was getting slow and wasn't holding a charge for long. Made a huge difference.

I think I let it charging enough time...four or five hours with the psp charger...

My 300 has been stopped for 2 months and before, I could notice that letters weren´t as dark as they used to be months before...

I don´t know about the battery because the orange light switches on everytime I reset it and start it...

when I switch it on, it stays on for some 10 seconds then it blinks a few times and goes off...is this how the 300 works when low battery?

I have bought a new battery, see if it helps...
