Ich bin mir selber noch nicht so ganz sicher, inwieweit ich die Liste eingrenzen sollte. Ich schaue erstmal, was das jetzt alles so ist.

Aber genau solche Vorschläge brauche ich. Bedingung ist nur, dass ihr die Apps selber auch verwendet oder brauchbar findet.

dieses Forum ist ein spezielles Forum für mobiles Lesen (wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe) und ich möchte dich stark unterstützen, was die Einrichtung eines Android Unterforums anbelangt. Ich habe selbst gerade ein solches Gerät gekauft und mache meine ersten Gehversuche mit Lese-apps.

Ich finde es allerdings nicht sehr gelungen, hier jetzt alle möglichen android apps aufzulisten und zu diskutieren. Allgemeine android Foren gibt es schon genug.

Wir sollten uns auf den Bereich Lesen, Bücher und ähnliches konzentrieren und den Bereich nicht mit "warum geht mein XYZ nicht mit der app ABC? nachdem ich version LMN aufgespielt habe" zumüllen. Insofern bin ich nicht dafür z.B den Pocketbook IQ mit seinen speziellen technischen Pocketbook Problemchen hier auszubreiten.

Ansonsten würde ich mich hier gerne beteiligen.

wir sind da eigentlich ganz nahe beieinander. Die App-Liste (1.+2. Beitrag) hat schon in etwa diese Richtung, mir geht es in erster Linie, um die Apps mit dem Themenkreis: Reader, Informationen, News, Lexika, Dictionaries etc.

Dann möchte ich aber auch aus anderen Bereichen Apps zusammentragen, die dem Einsteiger in die Android-Welt erstmal ein paar Anregungen bietet. Wie groß dieser Nebenbereich wird, werden wir sehen. Vorschläge werden und wurden von mir erstmal subjektiv gefiltert. Es können aber auch mal Apps aus diesem Bereich wieder rausfliegen. Ich möchte das unverkrampft handhaben.

Worüber hier diskutiert wird, finde ich erstmal nicht so wichtig. Mir geht es eher darum, eine App-Liste zu erstellen, die für Android-Besitzer aus dem Forum eine Hilfestellung sein kann. Das diese ein besonderes Interesse am Lesen haben, setze ich voraus.

Weiter ist es mir auch ein Anliegen, den Besitzern von Android-Geräten, die keinen Market-Zugang haben eine Hilfestellung zu geben. Das hat erstmal nichts mit dem IQ zu tun, das betrifft auch viele andere Tablets. Da ich aber einen IQ besitze, hat es bei der Erstellung des Themas eine Rolle gespielt.

Ich habe aber auch bewußt das Thema ausserhalb vom Pocketbook Unterforum erstellt. Ich möchte darüber aber auf keinem Fall hier diskutieren.

Auch im Jahr 2011 geht es weiter mit der App-Liste, die ihr im 1. Beitrag sehen könnt.

Ich hätte da noch die Bitte an einen Moderator, könnte das Thema so lange es kein Android-Unterforum gibt, hier oben "festgemacht" werden, damit es nicht nach unten rutscht.

Tagesschau ist eine gut gemachte App rund um die Tagesschau der ARD.
Sie bietet sowohl schriftliche Hintergründe als auch kurze Videos zu den einzelnen Beiträgen. ( kostenlos bei Pdassi )

Kobo App

Ich habe mir heute mal die Kobo App angeschaut. Sie ist vergleichbar mit der Kindle App, einfache Reader Software mit Anbindung an den Shop. Wie beim Kindle werden die gekauften Ebooks auf den verschiedenen Geräten synchronisiert.

(Edit: Vergleichbar meint hier, nicht unbedingt gleiche Quallität. Die Kindle-App ist deutlich ausgereifter.)

Derzeit bietet der Shop auch zahlreiche Free Ebooks, natürlich alles Klassiker, die man bei Mobileread ohnehin bekommt, aber immerhin praktisch.

Wenn die Pläne von Kobo, sich auf dem europäischen Markt zu etablieren, Realität werden sollten, könnte der Store mit einen breitem Angebot in mehreren Sprachen hierzulande punkten. Im Gegensatz zur Kindle App unterstützt die Kobo App Epubs mit DRM.

Edit2: Das Epub wird offenbar als ein eigenes KOBO-Format auf dem Gerät hinterlegt, so habe ich es jedenfalls aus dem englischsprachigen Unterforum herausgelesen. Auf dem PC soll das aber anders sein, aber es sind wohl nicht alle Epubs mit dem Adobe DRM ausgestattet. Das macht das ganze System für Deutschland weniger offen. Ausprobieren möchte ich es derzeit aber nicht selber.

Die App kann derzeit wohl nur über den Market bezogen werden.

(Sie läuft auf meinem Pocketbook IQ (Android 2.0), auf dem Archos 5 IT (1.6) wird vom Text rechts etwas abgeschnitten.)

Cool Reader

Nachdem im Forum so oft vom Cool Reader die Rede war, habe ich mir mal die Cool Reader App angesehen und war doch erstaunt, wie gut sie ist, vergleichbar mit dem Moon+ Reader, der ja leider auf dem Archos nicht mehr funktioniert.

Schön sind die vielen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten, Ränder, Schriften, Hintergründe, Farben, Umblättern, Tastenbelegungen und andere Funktionen. Ein besonderes Highlight ist das Dictionary, es kann auch ein Off-Line-Wörterbuch installiert werden, dabei muss eines der angegeben Wörterbücher aus dem Market nochmal extra geladen werden. Ich habe das Fora-Dict. gewählt mit Eng-German Wörterbuch (da gab es mehrere Möglichkeiten), dieses liefert bisher recht gute Übersetzungen.

Schön ist auch, dass man auf der SD nach ebooks suchen kann, die bereits auf dem Gerät sind.(Bei Aldiko stört mich der umständliche Import, sofern man nicht ebooks von verschiedenen Stores herunterlädt. Das ist wiederum sehr praktisch.)

Ich werde es jetzt nochmal auf dem IQ ausprobieren, weiter testen und dann berichten, ob mein erster positiver Eindruck bestätigt wurde.

Cool Reader App und Wörterbücher können aus dem Market kostenlos bezogen werden.

Mit dem IQ gibt es kleinere Probleme bei größeren Dateien. Ich muss da aber noch ein paar Ebooks ausprobieren, bei einem der Längeren ist er sehr träge, wenn man am Format etwas ändert.

Was ich bisher genial finde ist, dass ich den Zoonen auf dem Display beim Tippen darauf (lang oder kurz) verschiedene Funktionen zuweisen kann (z.B. kurzer Tipp in die Mitte Inhaltsverzeichnis/ langer Tipp in die Mitte Lesezeichen/ kurzer Tipp links oben Schriftgröße rauf usw. ) Ich glaube, man muss da nur aufpassen, dass nicht zu viele Funktionen verwendet werden.

Ich mache noch ein neues Thema zum Cool Reader auf. Nicht unbedingt heute, aber der ist so interessant, da würde ich gerne noch etwas zu schreiben.

Ich war böse.... ich benutze den Cool Reader auch seit ein Paar Wochen, finde ihn auch bisher sehr gut, und auch diese Funktion mit dem tappen kurz und lang, die man genau so wie man es wünscht gestalten kann, ist super gut.... und ich war böse, weil ich es hier nicht geschrieben habe. Sorry, wirklich, aber das Klima hier und die allgemeinen News in die Welt haben mich sagen wir mal "gebremst", hier zu schreiben oder gar zu lesen. Also hamlok: Du bist nicht autistisch (falls Du Dir noch nicht darüber sicher bist ;-))

Cool Reader ist bisher top, ich nutze Moon kaum noch wenn ich mit dem IQ lese.

Edit und offtopic: ich wünsche mir jetzt einen e-ink reader, mit Pearl Screen, der epub kann, und wifi hat, so dass ich mir meine Bücher ohne usb kabel holen kann. Sowas gibt es nicht. Kindle kommt nah dran, aber meine Bücher will ich nicht alle auf mobi konvertieren. LCD is nett, aber meine Sicht leidet derzeit sehr, und das ständiges aufladen (ipad oder IQ ist gleich was das angeht) nervt.....!
