Question Calibre v0.8.68 not recognising Kindle Touch

My laptop (windows 7) is recognising the device and I can transfer files to it manually, but Calibre won't acknowledge the connection and won't bring up a 'send to device' button.

No other devices are plugged in and the plug-in for the kindle touch is enabled.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I'm just doing something stupid.

Debug info with the device plugged in and recognised by windows;

That log does not show any drive as being recognised by Windows! That is a bit strange if you say it is being recognised and assigned a drive letter by Windows.

I just removed the second (virtual) disc drive and that didn't help.

Since windows is telling calibre there are no removable drives, there isn't anything calibre can do about it. I suggest you use the connect to folder function to connect to your kindle.

Hey guys, I know this is slightly off the subject, but I have the new Kindle Fire HD 7 inch and am unable to get Calibre to recognize the device. Has support not been added for the new Kindles yet?
BTW, kovidgoyal....I love your program, it has been a wonderful help to me and my family for the past year and I have donated money several times. Thanks so much for creating this piece of software....

I don't know about the new Kindles but the latest update which I just installed (0.8.69) totally resolved the issue for me. Whatever you did Kovid, it worked.
Thank you.
