The Addams Family vs The Munsters
I have bandied this around in my mind for too long.
When I was younger I preferred The Munsters. Now with the advantage of maturity and wisdom I am convinced that The Addams Family is the superior 1960's Horror Sitcom. What do you think? |

I'd go for the Adams Family, as I don't know either of the two other options...
(unless Addams Family is not Adams Family...) |

Dont think the Munsters was ever aired in most contries over here in Europe. So it's not surprising Sweetpea doesn't know about it.
And also considering the fact that it was an incredibly cheezy show I happened to watch a couple of times during my extended visit in the US a few years back it's not surprising that you sort of convince yourself you ever heard the name even |

I see. (Wait Little Skipper... was the same true for Gilligan's Island?)
Meh, all the shows I've seen from that era seem cheesy. |

Yepp, Gilligan's Island has never been aired over here in sweden as far as i know. During that era we had exactly 1 (one) tv-channel here in sweden, which was operated by the government-by-proxy. And since it was the socialistparty that was in control then... you can figure the rest out It wasnt until December 5th 1969 that we got the second channel (also run by the govmnt) |

I never looked into it, but the history of TV here goes back to the '30's! In '51, the first official channel was started. Most of the largest broadcasting associations were started then. Quote:
In 1965, the second channel was introduced and in '87 or '88 the third. And in '89 the first commercial channel was started. |

I never liked either (nor Gilligan's Island). The Loved One, on the other hand, can probably not only name every character from each of those shows (not to mention others like Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Hogan's Heroes, et cetera), but likely name the actors that played them (I know he can with Gilligan's Island, because he often does it to annoy me ).

They're a bit interchangeable in my head now but I'd have to say Munsters as a TV show (I liked the vampire grandad better than the witchy gran, although the 'normal' girl was annoying and Lurch rocked), Addams Family for the movies.
Never seen Gilligan's Island. |

Not sure which was my favourite, have to give it more thought, not Gilligan's Island, although we did a Gilligan's Island Christmas play in Grade 6. My only piece of party trivia is that the Munsters were the first married couple to share a double bed on prime time tv....

Adams Family because I'm a big fan of Charles Addams original comic books (he worked with Ray Bradbury, and Bradbury also created a similar family of weirdos in short stories). Here's a piccie of the original cartoon gang:

Don't worry, you'll never see Gilligan's Island at work. Red said that's what got him to start drinkin' Pearl. It was a step up..... |

Only by One. Why do you think The Loved One is Loved?
