I signed up. I thought they'd have their iPad app out but it doesn't appear so

Looked interesting, so I signed up. I wonder if it can only be read online?

Looks interesting I'm signing up.
This project has been mentioned in one of Norway's leading on-line IT-magazine, the text is unfortunately in Norwegian but Google translate does a decent job: http://translate.google.com/translat...jetong&act=url The original article can be found here: http://www.digi.no/850301/her-er-ver...e-bokfoljetong |

After reading the introduction and a bit of the first chapter I'm entirely unconvinced. They start with the flimsiest of premises (a bunch of grown men who want to play at sword-fighting) and decide to monetise that by spinning off a load of ancillary merchandise ("illustrations, graphic novels, maps, and eventually games and movies") while papering over the cracks with a hefty dollop of Web2.0-orrhoea.
Maybe Novels-as-a-Service is the way to go to counter the effects of piracy on pulp genre. But it might be an idea to start off with something a bit more developed than 'how can I describe a realistic sword-fight'. |
