LGTM - no HTML errors after modifying with this dev plugin.

Although the GBS anchors have disappeared, there are still lots of empty div elements with display:none in the text:

These can't logically affect the rendering of the text, or be referenced by anything, so could go IMO.

As my great-grandpappy might say, "D'oh! Me am stupidhead!" I forgot to tweak the replacement line to have the changes cascade, so only the last of the GBS conditions - the anchor alone - was taking effect. This should do it.

Hello to the Author of this great plugin.
My I suggest a configuration improvement ?
Every time I use the plugin, a pop-up appears asking me if I allow the replace of the file in the library. OF COURSE I DO! well, isn't it obvious ?
I mean please introduce a config parameter to allow to do it automatically.
Modify ePub is a must, each time you change metadata with some more complete, or the cover, or whatever.
Please, automatize the process.
AND.... My best compliments for this diamondly beautiful piece of code.

That query is there because many of us let it run in background and it might not be convenient for some of the GUI side effects to happen.

What version are you running? Version 1.3.13 already has an option to do this. Look for the one labelled ''Automatically accept results".

@Guba - FWIW you could those things with the built-in feature Polish Books (press 'P'), it offers a subset of the most commonly used features of Modify plus font subsetting.

But not the features I value most - remove cover and non dc metadata.

@Rev Bob - if you have a moment, perhaps you could add an option to remove any text in the dc:description element.

Where is that? I'm not seeing it offhand, and I want to make sure my beta version didn't accidentally delete it. That would be a bad thing.

Now I'm a bit confused. On Jul 5th, kiwidude posted that he'd added it in v1-3-13, see here

My earlier forked version (the one I PM'd you on Apr 25th) also has it. As my fork also (unfortunately) has the same version number 1-3-13 I suspect I never updated to kiwidude's official version.

I've just tried official version 1-3-13 - you're right - I don't see the new option either. Nevertheless kiwidude obviously thinks he added the code in there somewhere. Perhaps it can be coaxed out of hiding with a bit of code searching

I have a checkbox for "Prompt to save epubs" for the plugin ver. 1.3.13 in the plugin's behaviour customisation in Calibre>Preferences>Plugins. Is that where people are looking, rather than under the plugin's own Modify Plugin Options?

As far as I know I updated from an update notification when it became officially available. I don't want to delete and reinstall to see if I lose the option because I don't want to lose it and end up prompting .

I think people expected it to be in the main dialog
