Astak's Mentor Ereader multi-languages support?

Hello..just confuse on the multi-languages support on the Astak's Ebook Reader...does the multi-languages supports means only display other languages for the interface menu of the Ereader OR it supports to display the ebooks's original language other than English (ex: Chinese, French....) so the readers can read ebook in Chinese, French, Russian.... Thanks.

When a reader specifications talks about multi-language it means it has an interface that can be set to these different languages. What language the books are in is only dependent on having the correct fonts installed so long as it is a left to right language. Readers can generally read different language books without having to change the interface language although occasionally the font will only be available when the correct language is selected for the interface.

No, although Jinke does make and sell devices with that capability built in. For Astak you need to download a font set to support Chinese. See: http://www.theezreader.com/html/support_firmware.asp

This is a one time install.

Mentor supports Chinese TXT and other formats for sure. However, the default Chinese font is really not too attractive.

A check of the device shows that I was not totally accurate. There is support for Chinese out of the box if you change the language to Chinese so both books and the interface are in Chinese. If you want Chinese books but retain the interface in another language you need to download the font sets I mentioned.

Thanks for the detail information. couple more questions, I read on the ezreader forum about the Astak 5" ezreader pro has Paint come off and USB problems, is the issue addressed by the manufacture and fixed? the paint still come off and USB still have problem from the new batch? Thanks.

The USB 2 problem may not be at the PEz end as it seems to be mainly with Certain Intel USB chips (82801series) and XP drivers. Others have had no problems, so it looks as if certain combinations do not play nice

Paint problems have dropped to almost zero traffic on this board, so the manufacturing process must have been settled
