There are no version 3 ePub eBooks at the moment as nothing really reads it.

Hi Harry,
The "Feedback" forum is to leave comments about MobileRead. Technical questions belong in the appropriate forum. I'm moving this thread to the ePub forum. |

Harry,
DRM is outside the scope of the ePub spec. Any ePub producer is free to add their own DRM to an ePub file, and I don't believe this is going to change for ePub 3. There are currently at least three different (and mutually incompatible) ePub DRM mechanisms. |

Adobe, iBooks, and I'm sure there's another, but I can't think what it is off the top of my head.

Barnes&Noble?
But "mutually incompatible" does not mean that there couldn't be a reader that supports more than one of them. Doesn't the Kobo support Adobe and B&N? |

Yes, I think it does. There's nothing other than iBooks, though, which support iBooks DRM.

Kobo does not support B&N's DRM. But nook supports B&N's DRM and standard Adept DRM.

Yes, I meant Nook instead of Kobo, but it's nice to be right anyway

I think you're right! Here's a shot of the store just now...
Kobo also sell DRM-free books too. But their DRMed stuff is Adobe. |
