pdf contrast on e-reader side

When compared to other readers, it seems to me that the contrast of some pdf's, especially those produced by latex for instance, is not very good. Some of them are so "bright" they are quite difficult to read. Just in case, is there any setting that allows to have a better contrast for pdf's on the e-reader side that I have missed ?

Have a look at the pdf with something like GSview or if you use windows AcrobatReader on your PC. You may find they have used a font colour that is not black which appears a a light grey on a B&W screen.

If that is the case it should be possible to convert the file to a standard B&W which should solve your problem. I have had to do this a few times where a colour has been used for highlighting in a manual.

It turns out that kammerer's orionviewer has a contrast option, if you reduce the value to something below 100 %, pdf's that are too bright appear as they should!
