Suggestions for Mom
My Mother (81) wants a Kindle.

She likes that it can read to you, but does not want touch screen.

the Kindle 3 seems the one to get also since I have the
same and can walk her through things over the phone.

Any reason to Not get her a Kindle 3?

I think the only reason not to get a Kindle 3 is probable lack of KF8 support. I'm not even sure how much of an issue that would be?

Would she do much typing on it? You could get her the basic "Kindle" (the non-touch one) cause that would be about as bare-bones as it gets and wouldn't have a touchscreen.

Otherwise, the Kindle 3 would work well, I suppose.

My mother has a Sony WiFi PRS-T1 and she is in her mid-80s. My mother-in-law who is in her mod 60s has a T1 as well.

If it's not a light case, I suggest returning the case. My mother loves her light case and my mother-in-law as well.
