No flashing/rooting here; this was a factory unit used just for reading by my father-in-law.

I have hit a similar/the same problem, without any rooting, simply by (attempting) to update the device firmware.
During the update process, the device hit a loop (left it overnight even) and no combinations of buttons or hard/soft resets changes the behavior. On turning the device on, the starting screen shows but the bar does not advance. After 30-seconds to a minutes, the screen goes blank and repeats. As I said, no combination of recommended buttons will make the bar progress or the device boot into recovery mode. Any ideas as to what i might try? |
