I am trying to open a mobi file and get message "invalid start type"

calibre, version 0.9.11
ERROR: Could not open ebook: invalid start byte

You are running an obsolete version of Calibre. Upgrade to 1.48 and see if your eBook opens. If not, then post a bug report.

Actually I am running an up to date version of calibre (I just downloaded it yeterday) It is version 2.5. I found the solution to my problem by downloading calibre again!

Just as a general note: if you run an old version of Calibre, update it before asking for help as what's gone wrong could already have been fixed. If it's still a problem, then ask for help.
