PRs-600 & PRS-300 prefixes - Page 2

Since the 300's features and controls are very similar to the 505 and the 600's to the 700's, an interim solution might be to add the 300 to the existing 500/505 forum and the 600 to the 700 forum.

What is happening now is that we are getting messages in the wrong place because there is no correct place. So what we need now is a forum for the 600 and a forum for the 300 before it gets too unwieldy to go and find all the threads about the 300 and/or 600 to be moved.

Jon, there is need for a forum restructuring to include the new devices, but why would you separate a prs 300 from a prs 600 user from a prs 700 user and so on?

Because the devices are different. The 600 has more features then the 700 and the 300 has less. Plus, if I owned a 300 and wanted to find messages about the 300, It would make it very easy to find the forum for the 300.

Right now there are eight forums for Sony Readers. With the categories and a seperate forum for each Reader, you would have 6 forums (including the Daily Edition) and a way to easily add new forums for any new devices.

Prefixes seem more useful to me, you can filter on them if you want to see only threads on the 300.

There are only a couple of differences between the readers: note taking and its synchronization (600/700), OS support (500 vs the rest), developing, size/form for accessories.

For developing and accessories prefixes can be introduced in the subforums, the main Sony forum probably doesn't even need prefixes.
