Cool How to modify /etc/er_registry.txt in style

I admit it, I love emacs and I wasn't really happy until I got emacs installed on my iLiad.

Now I can edit /etc/er_registry.txt in style on my Mac using my 30" display.

By the way, emacs makes a nice development environment for the iLiad.

Once you have a native tool chain installed on the iLiad you can ftp/scp/cvs/apt-get, edit, make/compile, debug. All from emacs.

Is it a 3GHz Core 2 Duo? No.
Is it fast enough? I find it so.

Scotty, one question. A little bit aside from emaks .

I have deleted ones all my network profiles. For this reason I cannot save new ones and cannot update my 2.4 OS.
Now, comparing my er_registry.txt with your one shown at the screenshot, I have noticed that my er_registry.txt has no [NW_0] and [NETWORK_CONFIG] sections.

What do you think, if I will just add your [NW_0] and [NETWORK_CONFIG] sections to my er_registry.txt, is it enough to fix the problem?

You should have a "factory settings" er_registry.txt for your 2.4 system in /etc/er_registry.txt. I'd suggest copying that to /mnt/settings as things changed from 2.4 to 2.6 in er_registry.txt.

You are right, thanks. I have looked at er_registry.txt.old, it seems they keep a "factory settings" there.

Well, it is done after what I have updated the soft without any problem. The only thing I am not happy with is that I missed a moment when the device started to install the 2.7.1 patch. So I cannot experiment with the iLiad inner soft anymore .
But maybe somebody already has found a way how to do it under 2.7.1?
