Hello Folks can you help
Hello, When I backup from my kindle to PC will all my highlights, notes and bookmarks be backed up also? I am new to the kindle and since all my books are academic text books this is important to me.
I asked Amazon and they said everything is backed up automatically however, not all my books are from Amazon. I was wondering if Calibre could help Regards Joe |

Hi, someone correct me if my answer in incomplete but you don't need Calibre to backup your books. In order to backup your books, just copy everything in your Kindle documents directory and system/thumbnails directory.
You should still backup your books bought from Amazon even though all your books are automatically stored in Amazon Clouds. Amazon could theoretically remotely delete your books for whatever reason they see fit. Better safe than sorry since it did happened before to other people. |

To backup, drag and drop the folders from the Kindle to your computer. To restore, drag and drop the folders from the computer to the Kindle.

And, keep in mind that the backup will only work on the original Kindle that you backed it up from.

DRM is "digital rights management". We can't tell you how to remove it here, but do a Google for "Apprentice Alf" and you'll find everything you need.
