Bummer, I had at least expected basic ePUB3 support. Not the javascript and alike, but the more functional parts.

It looks like pretty much all of the new features are only useful for displaying vertical Japanese text, which is kind of pointless, because there are already a number of eBook readers available in Japan that presumably offer much better vertical text support. |

Does "more secure DRM" mean we'll have to update the inept scripts? |

Plus, some folks already noted annoying stuff in this ADE 3.0, especially with font rendering. (I haven't had time to try it out myself yet.)

Will ADE 2.0 still work?
And shouldn't they be focused on a linux release instead? Since they have it working in-house? |

I installed ADE 3.0 (and some other things) on a virgin Windows machine, registered it using my Adobe ID, and proceeded to have absolutely no issues whatsoever doing all the things I normally do to ADEPT ePubs after I buy them.
The font-rendering IS quite atrocious, I might add. |

Actually, I expect lenders to switch to the new content server long before retailers (unless they're "encouraged" strenuously to do so, of course). Last edited by DiapDealer; 01-22-2014 at 04:35 PM. |
