Question will the 2.0 be backlit? greyscale lvl increse?

I am so excited about the 2.0--was wondering what you erudite forum readers think...

you don't backlight ink displays (much the same you don't backlight a piece of paper).

It could have a frontlight like the wedge, but I seriously doubt it. It looks and reads like paper, so you need to have a light.

There could easily be a greyscale increase to 8 or 16 levels.

if you look at the sony v2 that does have internal illumination, you will understand immediately why direct illumination of e-ink doesn't work, its not in the nature of the current technology. dark environment and bright screen for e-ink immediately turn the screen into one huge square of glare. hopefully, folk at e-ink with figure this out sometime soon

I expect it to have at least 3 bit grayscale; hopefully it will be 4 bit.
