just got the 505 from sony style

Just an fyi
the new 505's dropped to 270.

I got a store model which was in great condition for 200+tax. It came with 3 years accidental damage.

Comparing the 300 with the 505. They both looked good but the 300 was smaller but not really small enough to be put into a pocket. The 600 did have more glare (~50% more) than the 300/505. Also was a bit fuzzy so I didn't like it.

I'm new to the ebook thing. Calibre is great. ebook software from sony is slow.

Hope this helps anyone else.

I hope you dig yours as much as I dig mine. I definitely think the 505 is the best of the Sony models.

In addiction to calibre, you might want to also try PRSCustomizer. I like it mainly for the clock function and the one-key shutdown.

Hi, peetah, and welcome to MobileRead.

You got a great price on your Sony 505. I have one, also, and I love it. The fact that you got a 3 years accidental damage insurance with it is wonderful.

Have fun as you poke around in the different Forums here on MobileRead.

Good deal on the 505. It's a great ebook device!

It really is, though. I carry mine around in my front jeans pocket all the time, in the pouch. Slides in and out easily.
