Godspeed, John Glenn

John Glenn, the last of the Mercury 7, died today at the age of 95. A man of many accomplishments, but I remember how I felt as he orbited the Earth, the first American to do so. He was my hero. RIP.

I can vividly remember being glued to the B&W TV watching breathlessly each time a Mercury capsule splashed down.

John Glenn was truly a living legend ... and is now in the stars he loved so well.

So I love watching the long running game show Jeopardy I love anything that tests my knowledge. So the actual broadcast is not enough, I like getting more at the web site. Today I noticed this posting:

IN MEMORIAM, CINDY STOWELL, 2016

A rather bittersweet story especially for the Christmas season. As the story notes Jeopardy shows are taped in advance. Cindy first appeared on Tuesday's show which she won. Won again last night as well. She'll be going for three in a row in today's broadcast.

Where does it say Cindy was from? I ask because the above bit was repeated on my Chicago news station, all weekend.

Dammit! I knew she was in critical condition, but....

Oh, and add Richard Adams, author of Watership Down, to the list.

I really hate this year!
