The Ghost Of A Flea. A murder mystery. NYC. 1975.
Hi:
"The Ghost Of A Flea" is now on Daily Cheap Reads. Subtitle: Murder In The Big Apple A murder mystery. Action thriller. A strong romantic subplot. If you like murder, mystery and mayhem, you have come to the right place. You will fall in love with the main characters and root for them, but not know if it is love or the ultimate deception that keeps them together. One plot twist after another will keep you from putting the book down. https://www.amazon.com//dp/B003WQBD96 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003WQBD96 https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/20838 $2.99 Brief Synopsis: Time: 1975. Location: New York City. The murder of Roger’s musician friend, Gideon Whiting, turns Roger’s world up-side-down. His wife, Natalie, lies to him. His best friend, Ted, lies to him. His boss and U.S. Senate candidate, Charlie Holt, lies to him. And Lieutenant Tarrington, a homicide detective, is convinced Roger killed Gideon—but is Tarrington who he claims to be, or is he lying, too? Peggy Curtis, the blond bombshell who dropped into Roger’s life one snowy night after he left Gideon’s apartment, might be the only person who can unravel the Gordian knot facing Roger, yet she has serious credibility problems, and is the last person he would want to rely on with his life and freedom on the line. The drug cartel masterminding much of the chaos seeks an address book it thinks Roger took from Gideon. As their ruthless pursuit intensifies, the police learn of the book and join the chase. The problem is, Roger doesn’t have what they want and he must get it before they decide he is expendable. The following FIVE STAR review was written by Clandestine Sanctuary: Awesome action thriller! It was a magnificent read from start to finish. I was definitely hooked right from the start. I can't seem to stop reading asides the usual bathroom breaks. The novel was brilliantly written, never a dull moment and the characters were intriguing. The story goes as Roger being manipulated by contradicting stories from people that he seems to love. When I read a book, I usually know how the story goes or what the characters would do, but with The Ghost of the Flea every chapter was a surprise. When I thought I know how the story ends, it changes to a different direction which makes the book unpredictable in a good way. I can certainly say that it was a good decision that I have read this book. I would recommend this book to bookworms who enjoy action, mystery/thriller and a good psychological read. This book will leave you thinking and guessing until the last pages. Give it a try. See what you're missing. John Brinling, author Last edited by brinlingfm; 01-08-2011 at 09:52 AM. The novel takes place entirely in 1975 and was written at that time. I believe the descriptions of places and historical figures is accurate, although the story itself is entirely fictional.

Here's a quote from the review by Stimulated-Outlet-Book-Reviews (Alice Yeh) that you might find interesting:
"As intricate as it was enthralling, The Ghost of a Flea is one of the most surprising books that I've come across. Nothing was as expected, and I was frequently left hankering for the next great reveal. If suspense and mind games are your cup of tea, then imbibe with pleasure as you work your way through this well-written work. 4 to 5 sparks, Thriller" I hope that quote - and there other very good ones! - will encourage you to download a sample of the book for a quick read. Nothing ventured nothing gained. http://www.stimulatedoutlet.com/ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003WQBD96 Thanks for your time. |
