High temps for the day were in the upper 60s (F), late in the morning. It has been in the 50s since about 11:00 AM. And a steady, pouring rain.

Storms, isolated tornadoes, torrential rain last evening ....
Today is alleged to be rain free and top out in the 80's F! I'll believe it when I verify it on the deck thermometer ... |

Heavy thunderstorms (with a few tornado warnings) just west of us. So far we're only getting clouds and gusty winds. Fine by me!

What meteorological phenomenon (phenomena) affects you this day ?
I'm here in Midlothian, VA with my daughter and the temps haven't been too scorching today even though we're in the upper 80s. We went for a walk this morning while the temperature was still hovering around 70, and spent some time this afternoon in her yard getting a bit of exercise.

Waiting for the blazing sunset and red moon tonight as a result of the Canadian wildfire smoke cloud.

Mostly sunny with very comfortable temps (in the low 80s F) and tolerable humidity.
Now, if we can only string a few more days like this together. |

After the warmest night since when recording began (1901) I'm preparing for another hot day. It's going to be 34C today with a chance of thunderstorms later today.
Humidity is low so it isn't as bad as it would with normal humidity, but I still want to punch the weathermen and women who keep declaring this is beautiful weather. |

Yesterday it didn't get as warm as they predicted, only 31C instead of 33C. Mid-afternoon a breeze started and it cooled down a bit. At night we had one thunderstorm and one short rainshower.
Today temperature's "only" going to reach 30C, no rain or thunderstorms are predicted. |

Looks like a fairly cool day on tap for Midlothian, Virginia, but the humidity is rather high and there's a strong chance we'll see some rain. My wife arrived yesterday and we'll be leaving for home later today. I Skyped Norton yesterday and he took the call on my grandson's phone instead of the iMac. The upside is that he actually seemed to know it was me and looked at me and responded when I spoke to him. Every time I tried talking to him on the iMac, he always looked toward the front door whenever I spoke. Perhaps he's trying to tell me he needs his own phone.
