Textbooks? (free, hopefully)

Anyone know of a good website to find textbooks in an ebook format, preferably for free? I'm trying to cut down on college costs.

As a textbook author myself, I'd request you to rethink your policy. All colleges have 2nd hand bookstores, and writing textbooks is not a method by which anyone's ever got rich. Please give the poor authors their very modest reward .

Worst-case scenario, you can get some hella good deals on Half.com and sell them back when you're done. This is what I did and I always recouped my money when I made the sale. The only time this doesn't work is if a book is too old and it's use has been discontinued at too many universities.

Since most textbooks are utterly unnecessary rewrites simply to force students to purchase new textbooks, I hope he sticks by his policy.

In the event that the textbooks you write there actually exists a need for that isn't equally well served by a myriad older textbooks that could be printed at reasonably prices or purchased used (far cheaper than even just last year's used textbooks), I wish you good luck... but chances are, at the very least you are skirting what is fairly widely acknowledged as an industry that basically thrives because educational institutions help it exploit their student populations.
