Is there anyone in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, USA) area (or willing to drive here) who would be interested in a meetup sometime this spring or summer?

I tentatively suggest Minnehaha Park: http://www.minneapolisparks.org/defa...D=4&parkid=252 It's a nice park, easy to get to by driving or public transit (there is a light rail station across the street).

do all place names in that area begin with "minne" ? and does that mean something ?

Minne means "water" in the language of the Dakota. Minneapolis is the "City of Lakes"--actually more like reclaimed swamp, but lakes sounds nicer, I guess. Minnesota is "Land of Sky-Colored Waters." Minnehaha, "Laughing Water" was the name of a Native woman and is also the name of the creek that runs through the park.
