Insert metadata from Calibre into PDF files
I have written a small shell script which can copy the metadata from Calibre to PDF files:
https://github.com/aboettger/ShellSc...ata_by_calibre You can call it directly from a terminal. As a parameter a path is expected. This path and all subdirectories are searched.: Code:
update_pdf_metadata_by_calibre [path_to_calibre_library] |

You know that calibre updates metadata in pdf files on export, right? And that you can use the ebook-meta command to write metadata to PDF files?

Not really. What do you mean by the "ebook-meta command"? I've been waiting since 2009 (beginning of this thread) to get this to work in a simple way, like Polish Books does for epubs. Thanks.

ebook-meta is a commandline tool (part of calibre) to display and change metadata in all the ebook formats calibre supports.

Couldn't you already do this with Polish books?

Ah, excellent point. Should've expected it to be something obvious like that.
So we don't need this option in Polish book anymore, do we? Also, can it have a plugboard option? Could be useful when running say calibre2opds. If someone wants plugboards to ensure the ebook internal metadata is tweaked from the sorting the library UI provides (since book metadata is not as good as calibre's) then I can see the calibre copies being a valid target for the same kind of processing. |

My suggestion would be to add it to polish books (but then the other options would need to have a note saying "Epub/AZW3 only").
