lrf from manybooks.net conversion issue
There is an issue converting lrf books, downloaded from manybooks.net, to another format. It seems that issue with PageTree object.

Have anybody solved this issue?

Sure have solved the issue. The solution is to use Calibre to convert LRF to something else.

You can use Reader Library to read LRF. Or you could buy a Sony Reader to read LRF. Or you could use Calibre's viewer to read LRF.

I d/loaded LRFTOOLS but how do you get it to work....all I see are lots of CLASS files. I normally just look for the "application" file [.exe] but can see nothing here....help please

You don't actually need LRFTools. Use Calibre. It's easier to use and works better.

JSWolf, merseybeatle is having problems with calibre. (Though refuses to tell us what the errors are...)

Firstly, leave the .jar file in one piece. There is no need to extract anything from it.

Anyway, this is a Java program. You'll need to have the java runtime environment installed. (There's a chance you already do if you run any Java web apps.)

This is also a command line program, so you'll need to run it from the command line, i.e., a DOS prompt.

First

Code:
cd "C:\path to\where\the jar\file is\"
change it to the actual path where your files are, e.g., "C:\Documents and Settings\merseybeatle\My Documents\LRFtools".

Then you'll need to add the directory containing the Java binaries to your path, e.g.:

But check the actual path you need. That's probably wrong, and as a non-Windows user I don't know what it is.

Then you should be able to follow the instructions linked to under usage on the first page.

The command for converting LRF to epub would be something like:

java -Xms200M -Xmx300M -jar LRFTools-0.9.236.jar convertLRF "C:\path to\LRF files\" -EPUB
Which should convert all the LRF files in "C:\path to\LRF files\" to EPUB. (Change the path to what it should be for your files.)

I hope that's right. I don't use Windows, so I couldn't test all of that.

Hi JSWolf, I note you are very confortable with Calibre, so do I. Can I ask you why aren't you feeling same way with LRFTools? Perhaps I could correct it... People writing to this post help me to (very slow, I know) to correct bugs on LRFTools. Please, let them do it...

The first example worked fine but the second did not.( I also tried -Xms200M & -Xmx300M with no difference )

Hi, I'm sure you have not Internet access from your computer at the moment of merging... The epub Table Of Content follows this DTD:

<!DOCTYPE ncx PUBLIC "-//NISO//DTD ncx 2005-1//EN" "http://www.daisy.org/z3986/2005/ncx-2005-1.dtd">

The SAX parse I've using for merging checks the remote DTD. I can remove this, meanwhile try to connect to internet

i need to write a program for convert pdf to epub or html using program.did lots of search and findout lrf epub tool. but i dnt knw how to add this jar files in to netbeans.

added the LRFTools-0.9.236.jar in to netbeans. how to run the jar files.. or i have to write a seperate program using this? totally confused... i need to run this program..
