Interesting article on ebooks

Just came across this article on ebook sales.

http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/...arlequin-ebook

Mostly about romance and erotica, but I was interested in some of the comments they made. Especially about the price point at which people stop buying books ($6.99). I find that to be really true. I am totally willing to drop up to $5 on a book without thinking. But more than that and I have to consider it carefully. Since most paperbacks are going for $7.99 these days, I'm not buying so much.

I loved that article, thank you! What it made me think of is that maybe I should try to get into publishing...there is a small press not to far from me...

Interesting that Romance is leading the eBook charge. Maybe the article has a point about the lower price-point in that genre. I read mostly fantasy/sci-fi and all of the titles I've been reading have been pushing $15 (maybe because I'm hooked into several popular series instead of newer authors).
