Problems setting up wireless connection

I am having problems setting up wireless connections to my home network that has WPA2 security-PSK, MAC Address filtering and the SSID is not broadcasted.

I've entered in the necessary data under Wireless Connections: SSID, security set to WPA/WPA2, entered PSK (difficult as it's 20 chars long and I'm not able to confirm I've entered it correctly-only *'s) added the ereader's WiFi MAC address to my modem "allow list", and set Network Settings: IP address configuration is: DHCP. Proxy configuration: Use proxy is: off.

When I test the connection, I get a "Network Error"; details include the 2 lines repeated 6 times:
/sbin/ipconfig eth0 up
ipconfig: SIOCGIFFLAGS: No such device

I don't know what this means.

Firmware is 2.0.5 20110314_113218

Any Ideas?

Normally this means there is no eth0 interface found by the OS.

Hello,
I am having almost exactly the same issue with my brand new PB612, with the only difference that my router does broadcast the SSID. Until now I could not check if it happens also with another wireless network or if it's only a problem of my router.

Anybody else is having the same issue?

Thanks,
Paolo

Hello,
I would like to reply to my previous post.
Today I was able to connect to my own wireless network successfully, but I had to follow these steps:
1) first define the network access in the connectivity menu;
2) then go to the mainteinance menu and start check for updated software;
3) after that I saw that my PB was connected to the wifi (there was a new icon in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen)
4) only then I could start the web browser and open a website successfully;

It's not straightforward, but it works. My FW version is 2.1.2 of 15/12/2011.

Hope it helps.

Thanks,
Paolo
