It is not branded/customized Glo, the store is Kobo's one. I don't know either why I'm not getting new update.. |

And that's the problem. I'm changing hands quite frequently and my thumb is not like 4 inches long and I have an Aura HD - it simply doesn't work. I sometimes have to go a page back also (if not that frequently), but it would be okay to swipe for that - or reach for the other side. But not all of the time if I don't want to change the settings. Well... I don't have a problem anymore since I have the Coolreader. If Kobo doesn't manage or want to offer tap zones... CR has them. |

Well, eventually there will be a firmware download available here if all goes well and you should be able to upgrade it yourself manually |

The very top of the screen, which is where I used to tap for next page, now seems to open the menu (anywhere on the top except the right corner), even though my settings haven't changed (ie, only a small patch is used for opening the menu). This is really irritating. I also don't like that I lost the "mark as finished" option within the book itself. And I'm still waiting to be able to actually choose what page I go to.
I've been happy or neutral with the upgrades in general, but I think this one isn't for me because it affected two of the things I do most often. I'll need to check out how to downgrade -- I like Pocket integration, but not as much as I like not opening the stupid menu when I didn't used to. |

Can I recommend that anyone with issues like this send an e-mail to Kobo Customer Service. The only way stupid decisions like this one will get reversed is if enough people complain. Existing functionality like this that's removed shouldn't be hard to replace, so it's strictly a design decision.

My Glo with firmware 2.8.1b does this too. I think this change might have happened between the original 2.8.1 firmware and the updated 2.8.1b firmware.

Trust me; the issue of Top Left no longer doing page turns was raised many times with the dev. and Product Management team during beta releases, to the usual effect.....

I guess I didn't update to 2.8.1b, because up until last night I could turn pages conveniently at the top of the screen. |

- Minutes left to read the current chapter - A percent complete for the chapter with a circular graph - How many minutes the next chapter should take to read - A bar graph for the length of each chapter. This also shows how far through the book and chapter you are. - How much time to complete the book. |

I've had a couple issues with this update.
I'll tap an icon and it will blink, like it registered my tap, but nothing happens. I have to do a second tap to get it to work. I opened the book I was reading and the font was all messed up. The font was too large and there were huge gaps between the lines - completely unreadable. I had to fiddle with the fonts to get it back to a readable state. Hopefully, there will be something in this update to make it all worthwhile. |

Between 1.8 and the Kobo patcher I have never been happier with my Kobo and am definitely giving this and probably future firmware updates a miss. And personally I am just plain tired of ranting at Kobo for the dumb decisions they make. |

In this case, they explained what was happening. Apparently people did not understand how to bring up the menu. They were tapping where the home icon gets displayed expecting to see the menu or go to the home screen. The UI/UX team decided it was better to make the change we are seeing. They said it made for a more consistent interface. |
