Da ist mir aber die großformatige Papierversion doch lieber.

Ich war ursprünglich begeistert von der Idee meine Zeitungen und Magazine im Kindle zu lesen. Aber ist wirklich zu teuer im Vergleich zum normalen Papier-Abo. Vielleicht bewegt sich da was, aber ich hab meine Zweifel (siehe die überteuerten Filme im iTunes Store, völlig absurd).

Early-Adopter sein ist nicht wirklich rational.

Ein klarer Vorteil vom Kindle ist: Man kann ihn kaufen!
Ich hoffe das man den txtr auch zur Buchmesse kaufen kann. Denn eigentlich möchte ich mir ja einen txtr auf der Messe gönnen. Die Jungs bei txtr machen sicher sehr viel richtig, aber sie müssen die Hardware liefern. Jetzt! Nicht erst zur Buchmesse 2010.

Marc, das heißt nur, dass der Zugang zu den eBooks nichts kostet. Das heißt noch lange nicht, dass der Kauf oder Download der eBooks keine Extrakosten entstehen lässt ...

Als immer noch begeisterter Cybook-Besitzer freue ich mich natürlich über den Verkauf des Kindle in Deutschland, weil ich ganz eigennützig darauf hoffe, dass die deutschen Verlage in Zukunft ihre Bücher nicht nur im epub- sondern endlich auch im mobipocket-Format anbieten. Eine größere Auswahl an Lesegeräten und Formaten kann für uns alle nur gut sein.

Während Amazon seinen Kindle angekündigt hat, war txtr heute auf der ETRE conference in Paris vertreten. Dort hat txtr-CEO Christoph Maire laut TG Daily angekündigt, dass der txtr reader noch vor Weihnachten verfügbar sein wird. Also Buchmesse 2010 ist da eher dann der "Termin" für den Nachfolger mit Farb-Display "

Wie es aussieht ist auch dieser Zugang nur eine Frage der Zeit. Bis dahin muss man sich halt selbst behelfe. Auf jeden Fall nichts Schlechtes fuer die unter Euch die englische Literatur lesen. Am Anfang geht es Amazon wohl vor allem um diese Leute. Und es wird den Konkurrenzkampf etwas anheizen.

Na, nee, nicht wirklich.

Amazon heißt amazon.com, azw und englischsprachige Titel
Sony etc. heißt libri.de, thalia.de, weltbild-ebooks.de, beam-ebooks.de, ciando.de etc, etc, ePub und deutschsprachige Titel

Da gibt es keine wirklich große Schnittmenge. Im Augenblick sind das zwei unterschiedliche Kundenkreise - oder eine Handvoll Geeks, deren Trend zum Drittreader geht.

Ich habe heute im Zug die Bildzeitung von heute gefunden und aus langeweile gelesen. Und was sehe ich? Gleich zwei Artikel über Ebookreader. Einmal über den Kindle und einmal über Cypook Opus (das Gewinnspiel von Bild). Also wenn schon in der Bildzeitung zwei Artikel über Ebookreader sind, dann ist der Durchbruch da für die Ebookreader ; - )
