How to tell Calibre that two books are the same book but diff format?

Hi all,

I have a bunch of epub/mobi books that are the same book but I have them as different entries in Calibre.

Is there a way to tell Calibre to combine them into the same folder?

Thanks!

Edit Metadata dropdown menu - Merge Books

Select the books to merge - type 'M' or 'Alt/M' or "Shift/Alt/M'

I had to experiment with the three options to get an appreciation of the different behaviour of each.

It would be nice if the menu choices had tooltips

Aha! Thank you! I managed to get it working. I selected second option (to delete other record).

The Icon right click menu explains the choices

I don't even have the 'Edit' icon. ('e' on keyboard works perfectly). For simple merge I hit 'm'. It adds second selected record to the first, so I always make sure the cover I want is on the first (just copy-paste on the details panel).

M works, but the request was for tool tips. The Menu does supply the optional uses when the M is not what you want
