Lisa's Way: upbeat science fiction
Hello!
I've just re-released my second novel, Lisa's Way: Teenager Lisa Herbert lives in the small town of Mountain View on the planet Fairfield. The “Savage Rain” decades earlier shut down the hyperspace gate and isolated her world. A casual remark from her sister gets Lisa to ask a simple question: “If life was better before the ‘Savage Rain,’ why couldn’t it be better again?” That question starts Lisa on a journey. She reactivates Fairfield’s H-gate and travels to three worlds. Each planet offers her a chance to improve life by hard work, by trade, or by making friends. She relies on her brains, her compassion, and a little sneakiness to solve the problems she faces. Lisa’s Way presents a heroine more interested in reasoning than fighting, and more concerned with doing good than looking good. It's available as a paperback as well as an ebook. Sound interesting, indeed.
Until I get a chance to read a sample, can you tell me if this is aimed more at adults or younger readers (a grade level perhaps?) I'm curious if it would be accessible, appropriate and interesting for my 8-yr old. |

When I wrote it I wasn't aiming for an age group. The cover artist's daughter read it, and she was under 15 then. I'm not sure about an 8-year-old. There's no gore, little violence, and no sex, though Lisa does have to, um, open her blouse to save her sister. (It's to lure in a bad guy.) If that would be trouble, I understand. If not, carry on.
I hope that answer helps you. Thanks for asking! |
