Not from Amazon apparently. The lowest Calc app goes for $0.99

Kindle 3 has the ability to do simple calculations with certain keyboard characters in its search box. Doubtless, K4 also has something similar. but I doubt that is really what you are after. In which case, you could try out the free online bog standard:
http://www.kinstant.com/calculator/ Incidentally, I noted accidentally (while typing this) that you can use two fingers on this calculator by using the 5-Way to move the cursor with a right-hand finger and the spacebar with a left-hand finger to actually enter the characters. This avoids the fiddle of making sure you hit the central key on the 5-Way. In the similar threads box below this thread, you will see further calculator links. Also: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004XN70ZI/ Now the thing is about the above 1 dollar app, that it is probably worth such a small outlay - if it weren't for the exasperating fact that it isn't available (yet) to most countries in the World. Kinstant?
Wow! You're right- you can do simple math with the search gee-gaw!
How do I install Kinstant calculator on my Kindle? Just as a side note- a 99 cent program from Amazon isn't worth it since being addicted to Linux. Last edited by KDA1; 01-27-2012 at 07:14 AM. |

Kinstant is only online. In these days of 24/7 wi-fi, that doesn't seem too much of a problem.
There is a blog that gives more-or-less the complete rundown on searchbox maths. There are a few slightly more complex possibilities with it. I'll post a link if I rediscover it. |

The following is for Kindle 3, but I dare say some of it will work for you on K4. It's also well-worth reading the rest of the page for other quirky tricks that MIGHT still function on K4:
