This is a brilliant idea.

The word of God is much more important than any others I believe so too.

Yeah - why not let them read about the all-powerful being who just killed so much of their families?

The only thing that these could possibly help with is money - if any of them had any - from selling them.

I think they'd be more appreciative to some fresh water to drink and a roof over their head to sleep under.

What a stupid idea. These people do not need a book. They need to rebuild their lives. They need help. A Bible will not help. The money it costs for these bibles could be put to better use like to help rebuild their lives.

Next time a meteorite hits the moon, they can send their Proclaimers to give hope to whatever may be there. They will be as useful as in Haiti.

I suspect what they don't need is a bunch of people a long way away telling them what they do or don't need.

I'm an atheist, but I wouldn't begrudge them any comfort they can find - and if this helps some of them then it's good imho.

my first reaction was incredibly idiotic!!! but then I thought... what if advanced first aid techniques, and basic survival skills (with a heavy emphasis on water purification) could be put on it?

Why not just regular bibles? And they aren't doing it for conversion, because something like 80% of Haiti is Catholic.
