Do a search and read some of the forums. Others have had similar problems and fixed them. Take the back cover off (it clips and can be levered off) and press the reset button which is above the right corner of the battery. If that doesn't work try turning off again and while holding down the on button press the volume button on the "up" side. You may have to try that a few times to get it right. If that doesn't work search the Vox forum and there are other tricks suggested. Good luck.

Well they have responded and it sounds like they want me to send it in to them for exchange. I will be truly heart broken to be rid of this one and get one that works.

A big thank you to all that had suggestions and tips.

Anyone having problems with the SD mini Card that you manually place inside the Kobo VOX? When I place my card in the VOX within 10 seconds the Vox where you put the SD card into becomes too hot to handle and the SD card burns your fingers when you take it out>

Sounds like some kind of hardware issue for sure. Could be the Vox itself, or the card. I'd try to get my hands on another card to rule out your unit being the source of the problem.

Cheers and good luck
