How do I copy and paste an image into the body?
You know, like people have the cover image of their books in this, the body, of their message. (Like in the Shameless Self Promotion forum.) I would like to use the Amazon cover image (right from their website). (I attached it.) It's just about the right size (300x300 pixels), but when I try to copy and paste it--no dice. I googled to try and figure it out and there's all these photoshop and outlook express answers, but I only have paint.net. Any EASY way of doing this?
Thanks, Bear |

Copy-paste it into the body of what? An ePub? It doesn't work like that. Use Sigil to insert it as an image, mark it as a cover, then convert the ePub to a Mobi or whatever.
300x300 is too small for a cover image. That's an outright thumbnail image, and a poor one at that, especially since it's a square image. There's no e-reader that has a square screen. Editing it in Paint.NET to fit a larger screen (~800x600) means that the quality will suffer. If I were you I would try and find a better source for the cover. sorry spider
I didn't explain myself well. I'd like to copy and paste into what I'm typing in now (what I refer to as the "body" of this message). Like in the "shameless self-promotion" forum. Some people (like I went with) just add an attachment (that shows up as a "thumbnail") and others manage to paste an image right in there with the text. I'd like to paste my image (it just happens to be a cover image) right in there with the text too.

You mean like this?
If so then you need the URL for the image (how you get it depends on the web browser you're using). Then you enclose the URL in IMG tags like this [ img ]IMAGE URL[ /img ] (without the spaces). |

[Image too large - deleted - MODERATOR]
This one was a formula with the book' ASIN # in the middle of it. Kind of too big for my purposes. Last edited by Dr. Drib; 02-09-2013 at 08:09 AM. |

What do you mean how do you get the URL image tag?
There's a button that says "Insert Image". See? It will add [img][/img] tags. Getting the URL (the actual link to the actual image) is easy! Just right click the image and choose the one that sounds like it does what you want. It's called "Copy Image Location" in Firefox, and "Copy Image URL" in Chromium. This is for an image that is already online. If the image is not already online, you need to upload it somewhere. The nice thing about Photobucket is that it is free, allows hot-linking (linking to thie image on sites around the web), and will provide the IMG code for inserting the image into your posts. |
