Sort name not possible to have the same as title

I notice a strange thing today. A book that I can't seem to edit the sort name to match the title. I press the arrow button to copy the title to the sort name field, but nothing happens. And when I write the sort order manually the right way, it shows red.

It should be:
Johanna Nilsson - De i utkanten alskande

But turns into:
Johanna Nilsson - utkanten alskande, De

Why does "De" end up at the final after a comma? And why can't I change it?

It happen to another book of the same author as well

Johanna Nilsson - Det gronare djupet
Johanna NIlsson - gronare djupet, Det

If it is the or a or an, some readers alphabetize by the first word after the article.

@marp68,

Are you talking about within Calibre? If so you need to visit
Preferences - Change calibre behaviour - Tweaks

and look for the 2 items
  • Control sorting of titles and series in the library display
  • Control formatting of title and series when used in templates

in the 'Edit Tweak' pane, if either of them are set to 'library_order' change to 'strictly_alphabetic'

In both cases you will need to read the 'Help' pane above to fully understand the implications.

De = They
Det = The (in this context)

Yes, in Calibre library, but the actual epub file in Calibre is named correctly. However, when tranferring the book to device, the file name is generated incorrectly. Probably it was generated from the incorrect library name settings.

I will try your method. Thanks
