I was just taking a little vacation in the UK , and noticed that Thus Was Adonis Murdered is available for 99p on the Amazon UK site.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thus-Adonis-...dp/B009GJ33VY/ It doesn't seem to be on sale on the Amazon US site right now. This is the first in a sadly short series of only four books by Sarah Caudwell which is my absolute favorite mystery series of all time. If you want to read my opinion about it, I went on and on about the series on another MR thread here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho....php?p=1606024 The only change from that long ago review is that all four are now availbale as ebooks, although you may have to go country-hopping to find the fourth, The Sibyl in Her Grave, in ebook. |

Today's Amazon UK Kindle Daily Deal has two thrillers by Dan Mayland: "The Colonel's Mistake", and "The Levelling". Both political thrillers set in Iran.

Free Today on Amazon - Darkness and the Devil Behind Me: A Lanie Price Mystery by Persia Walker
'In December 1923, Esther Todd was a lovely young pianist, a rising star. One month later, she was on the Most Wanted List. She had vanished along the snowy streets of a stormy night in Harlem and thieves had hit the home of her society patron, pulling off a million- dollar heist. Were the disappearance and the robbery coincidence or conspiracy? Somebody knew, but nobody was talking. Three years later, the puzzles remained unsolved. As a crime reporter, Lanie Price covered the initial case. Now a frustrated society columnist, she's ready for a change. It comes in the form of Esther's sister, Ruth. Desperate for closure, Ruth begs Lanie to dedicate her Christmas column to the case. Maybe someone, somewhere will remember something. Seeking fresh material, Lanie starts asking hard questions, dangerous questions, the kind just about guaranteed to get her killed.' Free on Amazon Today - Poison Pen by Sheila Lowe
'Before her body is found in her Jacuzzi, publicist to the stars Lindsey Alexander had few friends, but plenty of enemies. Yet, police are willing to accept the words scrawled on crumpled piece of paper nearby as evidence of suicide. When handwriting expert Claudia Rose is called onto the case, she has a different opinion. And when her instincts push her to investigate further, Claudia finds herself entangled in a far darker scenario than she could have imagined.' Free On Amazon Today - Tall Man in Ray-Bans (A John Tall Wolf Novel) by Joseph Flynn
'Out for a day’s adventure exploring the dry bed of Lake Travis in Austin, Texas, two young boys stumble upon a skeleton. It might be all that remains of a fugitive named Randy Bear Heart. Wanted for robbing three banks and killing three cops, Bear Heart was never brought to justice. The FBI is called on to determine how the outlaw avoided arrest for twenty-five years and who put him in the lake wearing chains. The BIA — Bureau of Indian Affairs — gets the very same job. Special Agent John Tall Wolf is put on the case because one of the dead cops was a Native American who worked at the Mercy Ridge Reservation. The FBI wants John to “coordinate all your efforts” through SAC Gilbert Melvin. John is having none of that, saying, “I’ll conduct my investigation as I see fit.” He doesn’t even get along with his own boss, Marlene Flower Moon, head of the BIA’s Office of Justice Services. While interviewing John for his job, Marlene was amused by his assertiveness, and asked him, “What do you want, a license to take scalps?” John said, “Yeah, that’d be good.”' UK http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tall-Ray-Ban...362247031_f_64 US Listed - get message pricing not available |
